Leonard Ellis Productions was formed in 1984
at the insistence of friends who wanted a cassette of my music to take home
with them. That first cassette was the solo piano album "Circle of Dreams".
This began my long association with my recording engineer Scott Fraser, who has recorded all of my albums.
Next I recorded the very popular but now out of print cassette single "The Bear Behind and Winter Waltz" featuring accompaniment by several of my musician friends. Jennifer Brosius, a very talented artist and dancer, did the exceptionally cleaver cover art.
Then in 1987 I released my fully orchestrated all acoustic opus "Starlight Sonata". On this album I had the pleasure of working with the incredible talents of Christopher Nilson, Mary Margaret Carter and nearly two dozen of L.A.'s finest musicians. Christopher did the superb arrangements and Mary Margaret did the delightful and whimsical cover art.
And my most recent release for solo piano and first on CD is "The Earthquake Album -- dancing to a fault", an album dedicated to those who in a dark moment were able to see the light. It was recorded on Scott's new Yamaha C7 grand piano. I was also very fortunate to be able to work with the magnanimous mixed media artist Ander Kase who created the perfect illustration of "dancing to a fault".
